THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUTH PROGRAMS

There are hundreds if not thousands of kids that have no place to learn to row in Western Westchester. Eastern Westchester kids (and adults) have many clubs to join which row on LI Sound shoreline and its river tributaries or that of Southern CT.

Rowing/crew can be a great asset to kids for physical fitness, team work, social skills, really challenging competition, and an opportunity to learn a sport you can enjoy into old age.

For many this sport can assist greatly in gaining admittance to the best colleges. Roughly 15% of college athletic scholarships are for men, but over 50% of the scholarships for women are for rowing/crew.
